Old South Pecan Pie

⅓ cup butter, melted
½ cup light corn syrup
½ cup dark corn syrup
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ tsp. vanilla extract
¼ tsp. salt
3 large eggs, beaten
1 cup pecan halves
1 unbaked 9″ pastry shell

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°F.

Step 2
In a bowl, combine the melted butter, corn syrups, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, eggs, and nuts. Beat until well blended. Pour the pecan mixture into the pastry shell.

Step 3
Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 375°F and bake for 45 to 50 minutes longer. To test for doneness, shake the pie gently; it should be firm near the edges but slightly jiggly in the center. Let cool on a rack before serving.
